Tiraspol -- Transniestria -- I still have my liver...

Maybe be you don't know anything about Transniestria... Normal that's a country that doesn't exist! It's the eastern part of moldova, most of people there are russian speakers and they did a revolution for the independance in 1992. But not even a country in the world wanted to recognize their independance... They decide to have their own "boarder", own police, own money, own lots of things... That's maybe the last place in the world that lives like in USSR time and it's the good place if you want to make anykind of traffic (weapons, humans, organs,...)

We left Chisinau at 8:00 am in a micro bus and we was only two foreigners (victor and me). One hour and half after we was at the "boarder". I've passed through lots of boarders but i've never seen ones like this. It looks like a check point, kind of army everywhere, big military tents, soldiers with kalachnikov. There are lot's of fences to pass by then we stop in the middle of nowhere. A soldier looks inside the minibus and see that we are foreigners and call us. We follow him in a little house. There was many guys, not fun at all, asking us where was our visa for transniestria... But how can we get a visa for a country which doesn't exist?? No embassy, no consulate... So they asked us 20euros each for the visa and after that it was ok. They we had to pay 1euro for the "official entrance".

Arriving at the bus station we been checked by the police twice in 5 minutes... then we went to an hostel... crappy one but before to get the room we had to register somewhere in the city. the receptionist only gave us a name of a street. Nobody was speaking english so we spent 1 hour to find it... and we foud it... we had to pay again....

Tiraspol is just intersting cause you can see Lenine statues, all kind of soviet monument and memorials. After that nothing interessant and 2 hours are enought to visit it.

At least, it was an intersting experience... but i'm not sure that I'll come back there for my summer holydays... :)
